Education Team Announcements
Welcome to DTAC Abu Dhabi Education Team Page!
1. The Education Team consists of Alfred, Devlal, Judy, Racquel, Ram, Shukla and Shannon (Head). Our main objective is to make sure that the speakers, contestants and role players have everything they need for DTAC to be run smoothly and professionally.
2. Contestants, Chief Judges, Judges, Contest Chairs, Timers and Tally Counters: Please visit the Education Desk immediately after you register. We need to ensure that all role players are accounted for. Also, we have some contest and briefing materials for you.
3. The Education Desk will be fully manned 8:00 - 10:00 Thursday (Indian Social Center). One person will be at the Education Desk from 10:00 to 11:30. If you are a contestant or role player and you arrive after 11:30, there will be a sign with a phone number to call for assistance. On Friday (Intercontinental), the Education Desk will be fully manned 7:30 - 9:00.
4. The Credentials Desk will be open Friday morning, during the lunch break and up to 5:00 pm for concerned Toastmasters (Club Presidents + VP’s Education, Area + Division Governors) to submit proxies and pick up ballots for the Friday evening Council meeting.
5. Two people (Club President + VP Education, usually) are allowed to carry their club banner in the banner parade. Please confirm during Registration if you will be participating in the banner parade…even if you happened to forget to bring your banner. That way the emcees won’t be calling out club names without any representatives present during the banner march.
6.This year Chief Timers will be responsible for ensuring time management. They’ll let everyone, except contestants, know via the red light on the timing devices when their allotted time is finished.
7.Three bus services have been arranged as follows:
a. Thursday (8 - 11 a.m.) from the Intercontinental Hotel to the India Social & Cultural Center - one 45-seater bus
b. Thursday (10 - 11 p.m.) from the India Social & Cultural Center to various guest hotels in Abu Dhabi - two 45-seater buses
c. Friday (11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.) from the Intercontinental Hotel to the mosque for Friday prayers - two 45-seater buses
