1. How were the groups for the Qualifier Round contests decided?
The groups were determined by drawing lots at a District Council meeting last year. The groups are as follows:
Group I - Divisions A, B, C, F, I, K and M
Group 2 - Divisions E, G, H , J, L and N
2. Who is eligible to compete in the Qualifier Round contests?
The 1st place winners from the Division level Table Topics, Humorous Speech and International Speech contests.
3. Who is eligible to compete in the District level contests?
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each Qualifier Round contest from Group I and Group 2 will proceed to the District level contests during DTAC. So, 6 contestants will compete in each Final Round contest.
4. Do I need to prepare a new speech for the District level contest?
Contestants have the option of either giving the same speech in the Qualifier Round contest and the Final Round contest or giving a different speech in each of the contests.
As far as practically possible, a different set of judges will be assigned for the Qualifier Round contests and the Final Round contests.
5. If the primary contestant and the alternate contestant are not present at the briefing, how is the speaking order determined?
The contestant arriving late draws from the remaining speaker slots. (TMI)
6. If the primary contestant arrives late and the alternate contestant is not attending DTAC, can someone else attend the briefing on the contestant’s behalf?
No, only primary and alternate contestants can attend the briefings.
7. What rules are followed in DTAC contests?
The rules can be found in the Toastmasters International Speech Contest Rulebook 2009, which all Toastmasters clubs around the world were sent several months ago.

8. Who fills out the Speaker’s Certification of Eligibility & Originality form?
Toastmasters competing in the Table Topics, Humorous Speech and International Speech contests. “This form is to be completed by each contestant and submitted before the contest to the chief judge at each level of competition.”

9. Who has to fill out the Speech Contestant Biographical Information form?
All Contestants. Contest Chairs sometimes use this information to ask Contestants questions at the very end of the contests, when all Contestants are called on stage at the same time.
